Artificial Insemination is a reliable way to improve genetic progress by placing semen into the uterus of a cow or heifer around the time of oestrus. We use frozen semen straws, which are thawed and carefully guided into place using an insemination gun. With a synchronisation program, insemination can be timed to match ovulation, giving each animal the best chance of success.
AI also helps reduce the workload on bulls - particularly on larger properties.
Embryo Transfer is a way to fast-track herd improvement using top genetics. In simple terms, embryos are collected from high performing donor cows and implanted into recipient cows. One donor can produce multiple calves in a season.
We focus on good management, calm cattle and a steady program.
90-day Bred Recipients
We source & provide recipients best suited to your situation. We select only suitable animals and ensure they are in optimal health ready to enter a program. These recipients will have embryos implanted and the PTIC recipient will be purchased after a successful pregnancy is achieved.
Weaned Calf Program
Our Weaned calf contracts cover everything from recipient synchronisation and embryo transfer through to calving and full calf rearing. Based on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, we provide producers with strong, healthy calves at 200 days of age. Calves are raised in a calm, low stress environment on pasture with nutritional support, ensuring optimal development and welfare from conception to weaning.
